Handmade with Love...

Well, as promised I have been busy in my new art room, sewing up a storm! Inspired by the romance of Valentine's Day, I created these cushions.
I used vintage images printed onto calico, lace and material I have collected from op-shops - old velvet dressing-gowns and bridesmaid's dresses are fabulous for cutting up to use in projects - and so cheap!

I found the silver ice-bucket at the local trash and treasure market for $5 and filled it with faded hydrangas from my garden...these were grown from cuttings from my dad, so they are precious to me...

I also found this gorgeous nightgown - so pretty...shown here with a little fur shrug and a brooch I found at a local second-hand shop. I love the thrill of the hunt and when I find little treasures I am so happy.
Happy Valentine's Day everybody - don't forget to spoil yourself today xxx

  13. Hi Tina,
This is a beautiful Valentine's Day post. Really romantic with all the antique lace. The cushions are wonderful and very imaginative.
Have you ever thought of having a etsy shop?
I think the cushions would sell well. Lovely to drop by and see you again.
    Best fairy wishes.

  14. I hope you had an amazing Valentines Day. I loved that you used the Shakespeare quote for one of your beautiful pillows. One of my favourite love quotes by Shakespeare is "When you do dance, I wish you a wave o' th' sea, that you might ever do
    nothing but that."
