All Hallows Eve and a Ghostly tale...

In the woods near my home stands a tall, foreboding tree...it is said that these woods are haunted...shall we make our way to the house at the top of the hill? Look there, amongst the trees - I'm game if you are...if you believe local legend, a witch lives here...follow me...

A SPOOKY TRUE GHOST STORY

Okay, if you don't want to be scared, look away now, for the following tale is true! A couple of years ago Georgia had a school excursion to The Old Melbourne Gaol, which is an historical jail in the city of Melbourne. It is in fact where our famous bushranger, Ned Kelly was hanged on 11th November, 1880. He was only one of 135 people that met their death here...so it's fair to say that many ghosts walk these hallways.

Anyway, back to my story...Georgia and her friends entered one of the cells, and Georgia took a photo of her friend by the window. When she looked at the pic on her digital camera, she saw what appeared to be a head coming out of her friend's shoulder. She and her friends screamed, and ran like the wind out of there!

Now, look closely at the photo, and tell me you don't see a face? I tell you, this seriously creeped us all out...I swear to you that this is the genuine article! I researched the jail online, and found that there are many stories of ghost sightings at the jail.

Oh, I've scared myself all over again - you have no idea...we don't even like keeping this photo!

Sleep well tonight, for tomorrow is Halloween, and although we don't really celebrate it downunder in Australia, I always like to create a little magic of my own...

Symphony in Pink

As you probably know, this month is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness. To honour all those who have been touched by this disease, and for my dear childhood friend who just recently has been diagnosed, I give you a symphony in pink...

All photos taken by me except the last one of Betsey Johnson - I wanna be her when I grow up!

Beneath the Fairy Bower

Follow me beneath the twisted vines to a magical place where dreams and wishes come true.

Won't you join me for some lemonade.

Wings are optional.

I'm loving these little Spring vases...just grab some old jars (I always have a few hanging around in my cupboards - I tell you, I'm a bit of a magpie...you never know when you might need stuff!) Twist some wire around the rim and make a loop, fill with water and voila! Sweet little vases to hang in the trees (or anywhere you fancy). These would also look amazing with candles at nighttime, strung up in the trees. I like them with little flowers picked from my garden. And the more mismatched, the better!

I love to create sacred spaces...they make me feel alive and inspired.

I hope everyone is having a magical Monday and finding the sacred within the everyday x

Blooming Lovely

Yesterday was my mother's birthday, so today we went for a drive in the countryside...it was a beautiful Spring day, very warm, so I put the roof down on the car, and off we went. I know it's rude to discuss a lady's age, but I do have to give you a hint and tell you she is only a couple of years off the big 8.0.! Can you believe it? Doesn't she look incredible?

I have shown you guys this gorgeous place before, called Bella Vedere, in the Yarra Valley near my home. The food here is delicious - beautiful, fresh seasonal produce, prepared simply. Mum had the rabbit in apple cider, and I chose veal cutlet with a porcini mushroom sauce - yum! We decided to forego dessert, as I had baked an orange cake in the morning, and decided we would have coffee and cake for afternoon tea at home.

So after we had strolled around the pretty cottage gardens, we hopped back in the car and headed home, where I laid out afternoon tea...

We had such a lovely day...
